UPDATE: Field Day at Lynn Crest School

Once again the weather is not cooperating with Field Day at Lynn Crest
School.

On Wednesday, June 13 we will be having a Barbecue for the students. The
AM. only Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten will have a Barbecue starting at
10:45am until dismissal at 11:30am.

The PM only Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten along with grades 1, 2, 3, 4
and 5 will have a Barbecue starting at 1:00pm until 3:00pm.

On Monday, June 16, Field Day will continue with the games and activities
for all of the children.

Thank you for your cooperation, the weather looks good for Monday.

Field day - change of date

Hello All,

The field day has been moved to June 13th, due to rain and
wet grass. Please make a note of it on your calenders and
let others who you may know that do not have e-mail or
internet access know as well.

Lynn Crest Playground Fire

Parents,

There is sad news to report - there was a fire last night at
the Lynn Crest Community Playground. The entire right side
(the older kids one) is gone. There was no one injured in
the fire. As of 10:15pm on Saturday night the fire
department and Woodbridge Police were still there
investigating the fire. As we learn further details we will
share them on Facebook and the Blog. We feel bad for the
students that will have to see the charred playground
tomorrow at school. If you have an opportunity to view the
playground with your children it may be a good idea, as the
ideas have alot of questions that need parent answers :)

Fun times at Lynn Crest

The Lynn Crest PTO is proud to announce our Volunteer of the
Year, Deborah Jones. The most inspiring thing about Deborah
Jones is she is a grandmother of Quincy Jones. She could be
home relaxing or doing her own thing but she chooses to be
at the school to help whenever needed. Deborah volunteers to
help out at every event the PTO runs. She is extremely
dedicated and a very hard worker. She makes our events run
smoother and we all always have a great time. Deborah is
very friendly and is always smiling. She is a positive
influence on our students.

The PTO held a very interesting assembly. The KR3RT's a
dance company from East Harlem, NY came into our school and
for an educational dance demonstration. The members of this
dance troupe are females and males ranging from elementary
school to college. Their goal is to engage students in
artistic endeavors, the benefit of dance has in one's life
and if you put your mind to something you can achieve it.
The members want to be professional dancers. Some of them
have already reached their goal as they have stared in
commercials, music videos and one has even worked with
Rihanna. At the end of the presentation, our students were
encouraged to get up and move. The members of the dance
troupe taught them a small routine which the students picked
up very quickly. This was a fun learning experience.

The annual book fair was a huge success thanks to the
volunteers. It was a Luau theme. The students were able to
shop throughout the day and we had a family night for
parents to shop with their children.

The PTO is always in need of volunteers. If you could just
spare a little time, that would make a huge impact on the
success of the various PTO event's. Please email
