Holiday sale will take place in the All Purpose Room Dec 12th 9:30-3pm for students to shop. and again after school from 6:30-8 pm for students, friends, & parents to shop. On Dec 13th it will be open from 9:30-11:30 for last minute shoppers.  Please remember to send money in the provided envelope with your child.

LYNN CREST PTO HOLIDAY SALE DECEMBER 12TH -13TH Dear Parent or Guardian, Your child is invited to attend our upcoming in-school holiday sale. Our sale will be held in the All Purpose Room December 12th from 9:30am-3:00pm for the students to shop and again after school from 6:30pm-8:00pm for students, parents and friends to shop. On December 13th the sale will be from 9:30am to 11:30am for our last minute shoppers. Holiday sale will enable children to purchase their own special holiday gifts for family and friends. The gifts will be moderately priced from .50 cents to $10.00 and there are great items for everyone, such as licensed sports products and popular jewelry. We are very excited about the program as a learning experience as well as a service to the students and parents. Adult volunteers play a vital role in the success of the holiday shop.PARENT VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO HELP WITH THE SET UP (on 12-11 after school) AND RUNNING THE SHOP (12-12 & 12-13). We realize that the holiday is a busy time for everyone but we would appreciate your support. All you have to do is fill out the form on the back of this sheet –

be sure to include the name of the child you are sending to

as well as the grade &Teacher!

 Send your completed form in an envelope marked “Holiday Grams”

Along with $1.00 per gram no later than December 12th

(Forms received after this date will not be accepted)

 If additional forms are needed, they can be obtained from

your child’s teacher, or emailed to you from lynncrestpto@gmail.com

This linked form will be cut, attached to a Special treat and will be delivered to your child’s classroom by the PTO on December 19^th.

Tomorrow is Snack Day!!!
Cocoa with Santa is tomorrow at 6:30pm. Santa will be there-pictures with Santa will be $1.00!
We have 40 baskets for our Tricky Tray, prices for raffles are:
1 for $2.00, 2 for $5.00, 12 for $10.00, 30 for $20.00
Grand Prize Raffle Tickets: 2 for $5.00 (Minimum 2 Tickets)
There will also be a Bake Sale !!!
Don't forget we will be collecting non-perishable & personal care items for our local pantries!!

Cocoa With Santa Wed December 5th

Cocoa with Santa- Flyers were sent out.  Bakers and volunteers are needed.  Please remember to send your basket item in as soon as possible. Classroom parents will help to collect items for baskets from their grades and put the baskets together.  If anyone wants to donate a basket, please have them contact Dawn Genoni by Wednesday November 28, 2012.  If anyone has empty baskets or picture frames they would like to donate, please contact Dawn Genoni by Tuesday November 27, 2012.  We need 6 teenagers for face painting and tattoos.

Fall Walk-A-Thon

On Friday, October 19, 2012, Lynn Crest students will be walking to raise money in memory of Andrew Mariner who recently passed away from ALS. Mr. Mariner was the father of a current and past student at Lynn Crest. Let's work together in the fight against ALS!!!

Please send your donation to your child's class in an envelope. Be sure to include your childs name, grade, teacher, and amount of your donation. Donations are due no later then October 18, 2012. All checks should be made payable to ALS Association.

Together, our Lynn Crest Family can help wipe out ALS! Thanks in advance for your Support!!!

UPDATE: Field Day at Lynn Crest School

Once again the weather is not cooperating with Field Day at Lynn Crest
School.

On Wednesday, June 13 we will be having a Barbecue for the students. The
AM. only Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten will have a Barbecue starting at
10:45am until dismissal at 11:30am.

The PM only Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten along with grades 1, 2, 3, 4
and 5 will have a Barbecue starting at 1:00pm until 3:00pm.

On Monday, June 16, Field Day will continue with the games and activities
for all of the children.

Thank you for your cooperation, the weather looks good for Monday.

The field day has been moved to June 13th, due to rain and
wet grass. Please make a note of it on your calenders and
let others who you may know that do not have e-mail or
internet access know as well.

Lynn Crest Playground Fire

Parents,

There is sad news to report - there was a fire last night at
the Lynn Crest Community Playground. The entire right side
(the older kids one) is gone. There was no one injured in
the fire. As of 10:15pm on Saturday night the fire
department and Woodbridge Police were still there
investigating the fire. As we learn further details we will
share them on Facebook and the Blog. We feel bad for the
students that will have to see the charred playground
tomorrow at school. If you have an opportunity to view the
playground with your children it may be a good idea, as the
ideas have alot of questions that need parent answers :)

Fun times at Lynn Crest

The Lynn Crest PTO is proud to announce our Volunteer of the
Year, Deborah Jones. The most inspiring thing about Deborah
Jones is she is a grandmother of Quincy Jones. She could be
home relaxing or doing her own thing but she chooses to be
at the school to help whenever needed. Deborah volunteers to
help out at every event the PTO runs. She is extremely
dedicated and a very hard worker. She makes our events run
smoother and we all always have a great time. Deborah is
very friendly and is always smiling. She is a positive
influence on our students.

The PTO held a very interesting assembly. The KR3RT's a
dance company from East Harlem, NY came into our school and
for an educational dance demonstration. The members of this
dance troupe are females and males ranging from elementary
school to college. Their goal is to engage students in
artistic endeavors, the benefit of dance has in one's life
and if you put your mind to something you can achieve it.
The members want to be professional dancers. Some of them
have already reached their goal as they have stared in
commercials, music videos and one has even worked with
Rihanna. At the end of the presentation, our students were
encouraged to get up and move. The members of the dance
troupe taught them a small routine which the students picked
up very quickly. This was a fun learning experience.

The annual book fair was a huge success thanks to the
volunteers. It was a Luau theme. The students were able to
shop throughout the day and we had a family night for
parents to shop with their children.

The PTO is always in need of volunteers. If you could just
spare a little time, that would make a huge impact on the
success of the various PTO event's. Please email

interested in being a volunteer.

The cost of the event is $1 per attendee (student or adult).
Please return your RSVP slip to school by February 1st.
